Noah's Art

Hello! If you've reached this page you either want to know a little bit more about 'Noah's Art' and the story behind the small business..or you've just stumbled across this by accident. In which case - it was lovely to meet you :)

In all seriousness, Noah's Art was created a little bit by 'accident'. Me and my long-suffering partner of almost 12 years finally got married! We quickly found out that I was pregnant and began making a 'homemade nursery' All of my family helped and soon we had handmade curtains, bedding and even a lampshade! Now! I can't knit, sew or crochet so I was left twiddling my thumbs - I so badly wanted to contribute so I turned to buttons! I ordered a couple of bags of buttons and bought myself some deep box frames and began crafting of an evening - the theme for our baby's nursery was hot air balloons.

Over my pregnancy, we had numerous hospital visits and crafting really was my escape. We quickly found out that our little bump was to be a boy and we chose the name Noah. After uploading the three finished pieces of art work to my personal Facebook I had a lot of interest. My maternity leave slowly crept around and it hit me. I.was.bored. I know your'e supposed to 'nest' and sleep (what's that??!) in the run up to your baby's birth but I was BORED! I began creating more little button frames and a friend suggested I opened a Facebook business page. She very kindly made me a logo and away we went! My business name (Noah's Art) means a lot to me - I wanted to include our son, Noah and he is the reason I create to be honest.

My maternity leave was almost over and I had to make the decision about returning to work as a nursery nurse. (By the way, being a nursery nurse really doesn't prepare you for being a parent!) I bit the bullett and decided not to return to my day job. With the support of my husband and family I now have my own full time business (and it's very, very scary!)

Since starting my business I have attended many craft fairs and now take orders for personalised items :) I enrolled onto the Prince's Trust Enterprise four day course and recieved a grant towards helping get my business off the ground. I learnt so much from The Prince's Trust and gained so much knowledge and confidence.
